Discussion of the project
"Moscow - the guest city of Beijing Design Week 2021/22"
The stand attracted the attention of the Chinese public and the media not only with their favorite color combinations of red and gold, but with a special mission of Moscow Design Pavilion - to introduce two design cultures and to overcome stereotypes about the ideas of copying in Chinese design and the uncertainties of Russian design. A special report on the first official participation of the Moscow design industry in Beijing was released on the Chinese international television channel CGTN RUSSIAN.
On September 15, Anna Bessmertnaya, curator of Moscow Design Pavilion, met with Ms. Chen Gong and Mr. Li Dan at the office of the Beijing Gehua Cultural Development Group to discuss about the program "Moscow - Beijing Design Week Guest City 2021/22" and Chinese Design Days at Mosbuild 2020, the general partner of Moscow Design Pavilion and the largest international building & interiors trade show in Eastern Europe that provides access to the entire Russian market.
The theme of the “Russian Mars” was complemented by the unusual floral brass decor by Artvivo, the elegant lamp by Olga Podolskaya, the ceramic suprematism by Ekaterina Zakirova and the spectacular “space” ergonomics of the Beautylizer by Art Up Studio - all against the background of the Bonitacasa acoustic rocket directed upwards.
Moscow Design Pavilion in Beijing has confirmed the relevance of cooperation between two countries and the importance of holding international design missions on a regular and bilateral basis. The participation of the Moscow delegation is the first step in a large program of rapprochement between Russian and Chinese design.
